We paid a visit to Zhong Shan's Shangri-La hotel after the usual morning lessons. The coach ride there was around an hour's journey so it was a good time to nap! Lunch was at the hotel's Cafe Plus which, essentially, was buffet. And very importantly, it was food that was very familiar to us. There was stuff like Papadum which I failed to find at the Indian Restaurant we dined at previously, smoked salmon, dim sum... there was quite a spread of desserts as well but by the time i moved on to desserts after my main course, there was hardly anything left over. T_T
After that was a lesson on Performance Indicators which was rather interesting (all the running around & attempts to make things a headache for others...) but the highlight to me was the break. They have this special room for tea breaks from meetings and stuff and it's decorated so nicely! The staff are all dessed in some very oriental costume and the food's all very well-prepared. I tried duck tongue for the first time :P It was in a spoon, along with chilled (jelly-like) soup.
Upon returning back to the hostel at night, we had rice with steamed egg & baked beans at Cab/Fion's room. Super good. Ah! And not forgetting the homemade porridge with canned meat & peanuts for brunch on Tuesday. Yummmy, and there was the sense of home :)
Tomorrow; Macau!! I hope that there won't be people smoking everywhere in air-conditioned areas over there. I'm sure the casinos will be an eye-opener!
